Enem 2011 - 21st century: The boundaries between public and private / English
Title: 21st Century: The limits between the public and the private.
According to the UN (United Nations), access to the network would be fundamental for human rights. In this context, it is essential to pay more attention to the social aspect of the individual who may be left out of the news because he is 'disconnected'. This is configured from the abundance of information on social networks, which generates a lack of information on paper. This shows that network access needs to be expanded urgently.
Under this analysis, it is necessary to point out that relevant factors are combined in the structuring of this problem. Among them, there is a lack of access in rural areas, which are often far from technology. This lack of subsidy is serious since it prevents an important part of the Brazilian population from having access to the network, being able to compromise the fundamental rights of a human being according to the UN. Added to this, is the verbal transmission that the internet wants to dominate the world and destroy it, as it is responsible for the mistaken belief that the network exists for evil. This flawed understanding of the benefits of the network has made individuals who do not have access to fast and reliable information, especially the rural population. It is evident, then, that the lack of knowledge associated with the unreality of rural people prevents access to the network.
Consequently, the network also generates undeniable and serious effects on the lives of individuals who cannot divide public and private. In view of this, the insufficient reception and the lack of information are both worrying, since people from rural areas need support, in addition to monitoring is also essential for the person to understand what can and cannot be posted on the network. A survey by Forrester Research shows that people are increasingly spending their time on social networks, which can end up causing them to post things that are private in public space without realizing it, as social networks were not made for anonymity. It is thus shown that the lack of resources and information produces the scarcity of people who can use social networks consciously and for their own good.
It is therefore urgent for the government to create platforms, access the network, and propose appropriate behaviors and attitudes to be adopted when using social networks. This measure will promote a larger informational network and provide a greater number of users aware of the network. In addition, it is also up to society to develop campaigns that preach the conscious use of social networks, which can be carried out through lectures in schools. Such an initiative is capable of engaging the Brazilian population in the conscious use of the network. With this, we will have a connected and aware Brazilian population.
